Setting up a SIP phone Grandstream GXP1610

Updated over 7 months ago

The Grandstream GXP1610 is an easy-to-use IP phone designed for small to medium-sized businesses or home offices.

How to Find Your Phone's IP Address

Before you begin the setup in the web browser interface, make sure the device is connected to the internet and check the phone's IP address. By default, it obtains an IP address via DHCP (automatic IP address assignment).

IMPORTANT! The phone and the computer must be on the same local network.

  1. Press the central button on the phone's joystick to open the Menu.

  2. Navigate to the Status submenu.

  3. Select Network Status -> IPv4, and you will see the IP address of the SIP phone.

If you are using a network with a static IP address, go to Static IP Settings and specify your network parameters (the IP address to be assigned to the phone, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS).

Enter the received IP address in the command line of your browser and go to the authorization page. Enter your login and password, which is admin* by default in both cases.

Setting up a SIP phone

  1. After entering the phone's interface, you need to select Network - Basic Settings, make the necessary adjustments, and save:

    • Internet Protocol - Preferably IPv4;

    • IPv4 Address - DHCP.

  2. Next, you need to specify the STUN server and port. Go to the Settings - General Settings section:

    • STUN Server - stun.l.google.com:19302

  3. Additionally, select Accounts - Account 1 - Network settings:

    • DNS Mode: A Record

    • Primary IP: 1.1.1.1

    • Backup IP 1: 1.1.0.0

    • NAT Traversal: STUN

    • Proxy: stun.l.google.com:19302

  4. After configuring the network settings, you can proceed to add the parameters for registering the SIP account. Navigate to Accounts - Account 1 - General and fill in the specified fields:

    • Account Active: Yes

    • Account Name: SIP account address

    • SIP Server: SIP domain specified in the employee's settings (e.g., c1.sip.onevoiplanet.com:5070).

Important! Make sure to specify port 5070 for UDP connection.

    • SIP User ID: SIP account address

    • Password: SIP password

    • Name: SIP account address + SIP server.

    For example: [email protected].
You can find this information in the employee's settings.

  5. After using these settings, the phone should register with the OneVOIPlanet PBX.
