You can refer to your phone's user manual to find out about supported technologies. However, there is also a second way to confirm eSIM compatibility on your phone through the system settings menu.
For Apple devices
For iPhone users, checking eSIM compatibility is a simple process:
Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll down and look for the Network provider lock field. If it says No SIM restrictions, your iPhone is compatible with eSIM.
Another way:
Go to Settings > Mobile Service and look for the Add eSIM button.
If you see either of these options or other methods to add an eSIM, then your phone is compatible.
For Android devices
eSIM support on Android is more fragmented, as it depends on the specific model and manufacturer. Most modern Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones are compatible with eSIM.
Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
Look for options like Add network provider, Add eSIM, or Upload SIM Card.
